Understanding Magnetic Lines of Force: Properties and Examples

TRIBUNNEWSMAKER.COM – What is a magnet? A magnet is a metal object that can attract other objects around it with special properties.

Often interpreted as an object’s properties that can affect certain materials and magnets have two poles, namely north (N) and south (S).

But there are also several objects around that cannot be attracted by magnets, objects that can be attracted are made of metal, for example magnesium and uranium.

Here are some characteristics of things around us that can be attracted by magnets or magnetic forces, among others:

– Made of magnetic metal.
– Not made of non-magnetic metal.
– Not blocked by too strong a barrier.
– Not obstructed by a barrier that is too thick.

Examples of objects that can be attracted by magnets include nails, knives, needles, safety pins, paper clips, keys and even coins.

On page 83 of the book, we are asked to answer the question, what are magnetic lines of force. Listen, come on!

What are Magnetic Lines of Force?
When we try to place a magnet on iron sand, we will see lines forming.

These curved lines are called magnetic force lines, friends.

Sourced from Kompas.com, magnetic lines of force are a collection of lines that describe the magnetic field.
In simple terms, a magnetic field is the area around a magnet that is influenced by magnetic forces.

Magnetic lines of force always come out of the north pole of the magnet and enter the south pole of the magnet.

The magnetic lines of force are in the form of curved lines that emerge from the north pole of the magnet towards the south pole, then come out again from the south pole of the magnet, curve, and go towards the north pole of the magnet.

Properties of Magnetic Lines of Force
To better understand magnetic lines of force, now let’s find out about their properties, come on!

1. Do not intersect each other
The first characteristic of magnetic lines of force is that they do not intersect each other. Why so?
