Understanding iPhone Status Bar Icons: What Do the Colored Dots Mean and How to Check App Permissions

You may have noticed that small, colored dots occasionally appear at the top of your iPhone screen, near the front-facing camera lens. But few people know what they mean.

iPhone models have built-in warning signals for violations of your privacy, which can alert users that their security may be at risk. Also known as Apple status bar icons, there are three colored ‘dots’ that appear at the top of the phone screen.

The blue dot with a white arrow inside it pointing to the right is the ultimate point of attention. Appears when an app is trying to access your location.
