The body shows signs that make one think that he has diabetes, but he is not, according to Dr. Ihab Mufid, a consultant endocrinologist.
Mufid said that frequent urination is a common symptom between true and diabetes insipidus, stressing that the latter leads to an increase in the amount of urine between 2.5 and 3 liters per day.

He explained that diabetes insipidus causes frequent urination, due to a decrease in a hormone in the body called vasopressin, noting that it is responsible for maintaining fluid balance in the body, by preventing diuresis.

Frequent urination associated with diabetes insipidus causes a decrease in fluids in the body, leading to feelings of extreme thirst, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) .
If a patient with diabetes insipidus does not drink enough water to replace fluids lost due to frequent urination, he may suffer from dry skin, according to Medscape.
Symptoms of diabetes insipidus include other symptoms, which the NHS website identifies as:
