JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted through mosquito bites Aedes aegypti.
This disease is characterized by sudden high fever and can cause serious complications if not treated properly.

Characteristics and Symptoms of Dengue Fever
The characteristic of dengue fever is a high increase in body temperature, usually between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, which occurs suddenly.
Quoted from Kids Health, dThis fever lasts for the first 1-2 days and often subsides on the third day. However, a decrease in fever may be a marker of entering a critical phase of the disease, not a sign of recovery.

The critical phase of dengue fever occurs around the third day to one week after the fever appears, lasting 24-48 hours.
This phase is characterized by fluid leakage from blood vessels and a decrease in platelet count. Even though the body temperature decreases, sufferers are not completely free from fever and are still at risk of experiencing a rise in temperature again.
