Why you may not be allowed to pass at the border

On social networks, Ukrainians actively share their experiences of crossing the border. Many people have a question about what can be imported into the country.

It is precisely because of violation of the rules for the import of certain groups of goods that you may be refused to cross the border at all. Therefore, it is important to know what you can take with you at the border and what is strictly prohibited.

What can be transported across the border

Cigarettes – two packs, electronic cigarettes – two pieces, cigars – 10 pieces, tobacco – 50 grams Alcohol – up to five liters of beer, one liter of strong drinks, low-alcohol products – up to two liters Vegetables, fruits – up to five kilograms Honey – up to two kilograms Coffee – up to 0.5 kilograms Medicines – a prescription is required for sedatives and other strong medications Equipment – one copy each Baby food – up to two kilograms Seafood and fish – up to five kilograms Sandwiches for consumption on the go Cakes, pastries, sweets – up to two kilograms Food for dogs and cats – up to two kilograms Cash – up to $10,000

You cannot import:

meat dairy products canned weapons chemicals and toxic substances pornographic materials

If you violate these border crossing rules, your belongings will be confiscated and discharged fine from 50 to 100 euros.

Those personal items that can be imported will not be taxed if their value does not exceed:

for people under 15 years old – 150 euros for people over 15 years old – 300 euros

Changes to border crossings by train

On September 8, infrastructure repair work in Przemysl began, so the train schedule has changed somewhat.

Trains No. 73/74 Kharkov – Przemysl and No. 89/90 Kyiv – Przemysl will temporarily not operate from Ukraine to Poland and vice versa. These changes will last until October 6.

In addition, during the month, two Intercity+ trains will run every Friday and Saturday: No. 705/706 Kyiv – Przemysl and No. 707/708 Kyiv – Przemysl.

The schedule of several more trains will also change:

No. 54 Przemysl – Kyiv. Now it will depart from Poland at 13.45 and arrive in Kyiv at 05.34. No. 36 Przemysl – Odessa. Now it departs at 13:45 and arrives in Odessa at 08:10.
