There is an interesting and mysterious cosmic phenomenon in astrophysics regarding the existence of black holes. The reason for the existence of black holes is the concept of extreme gravity which causes space-time distortion. According to Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity, enormous masses can expand space-time and create what we call black holes. Black holes form when a star’s enormous mass creates extreme gravity and expands space-time around it.

Albert Einstein in 1915, provided the conceptual basis for understanding black holes. According to this theory, gravity is not explained as a force like Newton’s law of gravity, but as a deformation or curvature of space-time caused by mass and energy.

General relativity opened the door to a new understanding of gravity and replaced Newton’s view of gravity as a force. This theory has been confirmed through numerous experimental tests and observations and remains the most important basis for understanding gravity on extreme time and space scales.
In the context of black holes, when a star explodes and the remaining mass becomes extremely dense, the resulting gravity becomes so strong that it expands space-time around it. This concept is known as “temporal geodesy”, and it causes objects that are close enough to with this enormous mass, it experiences movements governed by the laws of relativity.
