In the early stages of lung cancer, clinical manifestations may be absent. With the evolution of the disease, signs related to the pulmonary location of the tumor may appear, but sometimes the first signs of the paraneoplastic syndrome appear, characterized by fever, loss of appetite, altered taste, unintentional weight loss and coagulation disorders. It is only in the advanced stages that the persistent cough, sometimes with blood, the sensation of suffocation upon exertion or even breathing and chest pain are felt.
Surgery for lung cancer is the main method of treatment with a curative purpose, but the approach to cases is always multimodal, personalized, the multidisciplinary oncological committee (Tumor Board) being the one that establishes the optimal therapeutic sequence for each individual patient.
