Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — High blood pressure is a major health problem that most people don’t realize, as there are often no warning signs. And if you leave yourself without any treatment, you can suffer serious complications.

And the Public Health Authority in Saudi Arabia stated, through its account on the “Twitter” platform, that blood pressure must be checked regularly, whether by visiting the doctor’s office or self-measuring at home.

It is also essential that you are aware of the symptoms of high blood pressure, so that you can act immediately.

Among these symptoms:

  • ringing in the ears or nosebleeds;
  • Chest pain and difficulty breathing
  • Constant stress and anxiety
  • Blurred vision
  • nausea
  • Severe headache
  • Arrhythmia

Earlier, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population published a set of guidelines for the prevention of high blood pressure, in a tweet on “Twitter”, pointing out that exercising and paying attention to a healthy diet are among the basic things that must be followed to avoid developing high blood pressure.

And the Egyptian Health advised to reduce salt consumption to less than 5 grams per day.

The following are guidelines for preventing high blood pressure, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Health:

  • Reduce salt to less than 5 grams per day
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables
  • Do regular physical activity
  • stop smoking
  • Limit alcohol consumption
  • Limit your intake of foods full of saturated fats
  • Reducing psychological stress
  • Check high blood pressure regularly
