JawaPos.com – Recently there was a lot of news on Raffi Ahmad’s family’s YouTube social media that their second child, Cipung, was infected with a virus called Adenovirus.

Through a Rans Entertainment YouTube video posted on Friday (6/10), Nagita Slavina shared her experience of staying at the hospital to accompany her second child who was sick with Adenovirus.

According to the nurse who cares for Cipung, Raffi Ahmad’s second child, Adenovirus is currently a trend, so sufferers also have to be isolated in their rooms.

Reporting from halodoc.com, Adenovirus is a virus that usually infects children under five years old, although there is still a possibility of infecting all ages.

This virus attacks the respiratory system, causing infections such as colds and coughs, with symptoms similar to the common cold and flu.

According to experts, to date there have been identified 50 types of adenovirus that can infect humans, but there are only 3 types that can cause acute respiratory problems.

The cause of Adenovirus infection is because the human immune system is weak, the higher the body’s immunity, the more difficult it is for this virus to infect.

Transmission of Adenovirus Infection

Close contact: such as shaking hands, kissing, hugging, and living in crowded places. Air: this virus can be transmitted through droplets from people who sneeze or cough. Surfaces: touching objects that have been handled by a person carrying the virus. Stool: such as when changing a baby’s diaper which contains this virus. Water without chlorine: as people who carry adenovirus swim in swimming pools without chlorine, the water can spread the virus.

The symptoms of Adenovirus infection are cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, pink eyes, cold chest, pneumonia, and swollen lymph nodes.

Drink lots of water or fruit juice. Turn on the humidifier, so that the sufferer’s blocked nose can be better resolved. Call a doctor immediately if the symptoms have not resolved within 2 or 3 days. Wash your hands frequently with soap. Don’t touch your mouth and nose if you haven’t washed your hands. Clean children’s toys often with disinfectant or soap. Clean tables and other hard surfaces.
