Dr. Muhammad Al-Dwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, received Dr. Menen Abdel-Maqsoud, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, today Sunday to discuss ways of cooperation.
Dr. Al-Dwaini said that Al-Azhar pays great attention to the field of mental health, so he set up a psychological support unit at the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa in 2021, to connect religious sciences with other sciences and benefit from them in the field of advocacy and awareness, especially in modern and emerging challenges such as addiction, suicide and atheism, as well as the Center for the Development of International and Foreign Students’ Education established a psychological support unit for international students, providing them with all the support and solving their own psychological problems.
Dr. Al-Dwaini added that the issue was not limited to the field of advocacy alone, but Al-Azhar also included it in the courses of those who are about to get married, to provide them with a solution to all the problems that they are may meet in their married life, indicating that Al-Azhar has touched the introduction of psychological support in many areas of advocacy, education and advocacy.
For her part, Dr. Menen Abdel Maqsoud, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, praised Al-Azhar’s efforts in the field of psychological awareness, indicating that Al-Azhar used modern methods in this field and worked to achieve it, which in turn provides a great service to society, confirming its willingness to provide every support, through trainers presenting their curricula and modern methods of youth education, especially against addiction, drugs and suicide.
