The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) has announced the provisional starting grid for the 2023 F1 Round 21, the São Paulo GP (Brazilian GP).
During Friday’s qualifying, George Russell (Mercedes), Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon (Alpine) were each given two-place grid penalties for obstruction.
George Russell was demoted from 6th to 8th on the grid. Lando Norris (McLaren) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) were promoted to 6th and 7th respectively. With Ocon and Gasly dropped two places on the grid, Kevin Magnussen (Haas) and Alex Albon (Williams) move up two places each to 12th and 13th.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) is in pole position, with Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) in the front row. Additionally, the Aston Martins of Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso are locked out in the second row.
The 2023 F1 Sao Paulo GP final will take place on November 5th (Sunday) at 26:00 with a formation lap.
