Thanks to the support of the National Defense Sports Association, our association was able to organize a national defense sports day in Dunakes for the first time this year. In addition to highlighting the importance of national defense, the purpose of the sports day was to promote a healthy lifestyle and sports. The event was hosted by VSD Fóti úti Sports Center.
Unfortunately, the weather was not favorable, so we had to conduct the programs originally planned outdoors in the handball hall, but this did not take anything away from the quality of the event. Thanks to the work of the volunteers, the reorganization went smoothly and despite the rainy weather, many families showed up in the sports hall. The participating children could try their hand at several national defense sports. The coaches of our handball division designed a super military obstacle course, which all young people really enjoyed. Another member organization of the National Defense Sports Association, KSI, provided the laser shooting, which was also a great success among the children. Our athletics department was responsible for organizing the running, while the coaches of the wrestling department, by definition, took it upon themselves to run the wrestling program.
In addition to the VSD coaches, József Andrási József Andrási, a military athlete from the sports company, also added color to the latter program. In addition to national defense sports, the children could participate in creative activities and tasks related to the Dunakesz Trianon monument, in which VSD employees and volunteers helped the organizers.
The authentic military atmosphere was provided by the young cadets of the Than Károly school, who in addition to faithfully reflecting the national defense nature of the program in their military equipment, also fully participated in the organization of the event. The active participation of the families and the joy and enthusiasm of the children in the sports programs enhanced the atmosphere of the event even more.
The medal ceremony at the end of the sports day apparently filled the children with great joy and pride. All in all, it can be said that we have a great event behind us and we trust that VSD will be able to organize many similar events in the future in cooperation with the National Defense Sports Association.
