Three days before the start of the Under-20 World Hockey Championships, the organizers came with unpleasant news. The preparatory duel between the Czech Republic and Switzerland was canceled for the coronavirus.

Originally, the preparatory meetings were to start playing on December 19, each team had to play two matches.
