Unconventional Wedding on a Budget: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Sandy and Danute’s Big Day

The two have been actively planning the wedding for the past nine months, planning everything down to the last detail. Both are pleased with the success of the big event and say they would be hard to beat.

The wedding cost a considerable amount: “When it comes to weddings, the number was higher than we had thought, because we have no wedding experience at all,” Danute admits.

“We were hoping for something naive, but in the end it’s over 10,000 and under 15,000. A wedding is a very expensive event.” that’s Sandy. At the same time, they reveal that there were people who supported them, thus they managed to reduce the wedding costs here and there.

The wedding party took place on September 16 and was attended only by the closest people. The wedding was held in a very unconventional way – at first with “staged parts” or a wedding photo session and other activities, ending with a party held in the style of “Space Safari”.

They were married in Latvia by singer and pastor Ralfs Eiland.

It has already been reported that two days after the wedding party, Sandy and Danute went to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, where they officially got married, as same-sex marriages are not recognized in Latvia.

After getting married, the two went on their honeymoon to Cape Town, where they faced various unexpected obstacles.
