Matilda and Samuli Eriksson knew each other after their parents’ marriage. At first the two of them didn’t get along well, Matilda even hated Samuli, calling her annoying.
Our relationship is not very close. I don’t really like it. I think he’s kind of annoying. “I didn’t think we would end up together,” said Matilda in a TV program entitled Truly Series Love Don’t Judge.

Matilda was the first to admit her feelings, and was welcomed by Samuli. They kept their relationship a secret, but in the end they both admitted it to their respective parents.
The couple from Finland formalized their dating relationship into marriage in July 2022. Matilda said that the marriage felt strange, but fortunately the family gave their blessing.
“It’s very strange that my stepfather is my father-in-law, but it’s kind of fun for me too,” said the 24-year-old woman.
Even though their relationship is approved by their family, negative comments come from netizens. Netizens said that their relationship was unethical and disgusting.
“If we were siblings it would be taboo, but not in our situation,” Matilda argued defensively.
