So far this year, several forest fires have been recorded that put the flora and fauna of the region at risk. As is known, some of these incidents are a consequence of climate change and others are caused by people who are unaware of nature and who care little about the damage to the environment.

That is why the residents of Santa Rosa filed a citizen complaint, since two men carried out irresponsible practices with nature. Agents from the Nature Protection Division (Diprona) of the National Civil Police (PNC) arrested two people responsible for cutting down trees in the Puerta Roja hamlet, Cuilapa, Santa Rosa.

The men were identified as: Estuardo “N”, 37 years old, and Cristian “N”, 30, respectively, who were also surprised while operating an excavator machine.

According to information from the authorities, the men carried out work moving material and felling trees, consisting of the Güiligüiste, Cedros, Caulote, Hormigo, Palo Blanco, Madre Cacao, and Mulato species, which are in danger of extinction. Unfortunately, there were already about 30 trees extracted with all their roots.

When the agents asked them about the documentation that supports said work, they indicated that they lacked it. That is why he was transferred to a competent judge to hear the case.
