The police are at Sørrollnes, Ibestad, in connection with an unclear threat situation at a private address, they report on X/Twitter on Monday morning.
– At two o’clock a call came in to the operations center which was such that we perceived the situation as a threat situation, says operations manager Lars Meland to Nordlys.
He does not want to say anything about what the content of the message was.
Waiting for resources
– We went to the location, and there a situation arose from which we chose to withdraw. We did not go into the situation with the patrol that was there, but chose to wait until we got more resources this morning, says Meland.
The situation is still ongoing.
– We are trying to form a picture of what has happened and what is happening now. It is important for us to find out what is happening inside that house, says Meland.
Armed
There must be more than one person involved in the situation, the police have no indications that anyone has been injured.
Meland says the police are armed.
“We have control on the spot. Nearest neighbors have been evacuated. The case is being updated,” the police write on Twitter.
VG writes that an emergency warning has been sent out to the residents of Ibestad, telling them to stay away from the area. Meland says that it is because they do not want unnecessary traffic in an area where an armed action is taking place.
Ibestad mayor Dag Sigurd Brustind says they are in contact with the police and that it is not necessary to set up emergency staff.
