Naughty Dog is getting ready for the great premiere of The Last of Us Part I, next year we should play The Last of Us Frakcje, but it seems most likely that these are not the only projects currently under development – in such circumstances one of the experienced specialists decided to leave studio.
After 21 years, 6 months and 10 games released, Josh Scherr is leaving the ranks of Naughty Dog. The developer has worked, among others, as the main animator of cutscenes, screenwriter for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, as well as a story writer and narrative designer in The Last of Us Part II.
Scherr said goodbye to his colleagues and at the same time completed his profile on Linkedin, where he confirmed that he had already joined the new team. However, when analyzing his professional path, one can find an important mention – the developer has been developing an unannounced game at Naughty Dog for over 2 years.
“Scenario / Narration designer – an unannounced game
May 2020 – Jul 2022 – 2 years, 3 months
I did some early plot development work and wrote on the subject [gry]”.
The above information may raise the expectations of enthusiasts of the activities of the American PlayStation studio, because it clearly indicates that For several dozen months, work has been underway on a new project in Naughty Dog, which has still not been disclosed.
Considering Josh Scherr was working on Uncharted 4 … maybe he was the one who contributed to the development of Uncharted 5? Rumors say that the developers have not abandoned IP and are creating the next part of the production.
Of course, we still have to wait for confirmation, but we can safely assume that Naughty Dog has been developing another title for a long time, which (apart from refreshing The Last of Us) may turn out to be the first game developed from the beginning with the PS5 in mind.
