Uncertainty Surrounding Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Development

Development on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake may have been halted.

There is currently a big question mark surrounding the development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake. The game’s videos have been banned from the official PlayStation channel and the developers have removed all communications on their social channels.

Embracer Group also appears to have made cuts or changes here to further save money. We have previously reported on restructuring and layoffs, with those responsible also considering selling Gearbox Software.

UPDATE: Sony has one opinion about the removal of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake videos and tweets, emphasizing that this is music licensing. Accordingly, the lack of a music license is obviously responsible for the removal and the game has not been discontinued.

“As part of normal business operations, we remove licensed music assets when licenses expire,” a Sony spokesperson told IGN.
