Uncertainty after rape in Kleinmachnow: “I would not go there anymore – least of all alone” – Berlin

Brahmsweg, Schubertweg, Bachweg – the streets in the far northwest of Kleinmachnow have sounding names. The closer you get to the municipal boundary, the larger the gardens and the fewer the houses.

After all, you are in lush green, it is a magnificent, dense forest that connects here. Up until a few days ago, the scene seemed idyllic, inviting for walkers, joggers and cyclists. That has changed since this week.

Sunday evening happened here a terrible act. A 27-year-old woman, possibly living in the neighboring district, was raped in the forest.

Near the well-known tank monument on the A115, she was overwhelmed by a man and dragged into a bush. Now there is also a face to the perpetrator, who is said to be about 25 years old, slim and 1.75 meters tall.

On Wednesday, the police released a phantom picture that was made with the help of the victim. It is also known that he was dressed in blue sweatpants, carried an orange backpack and spoke with an Eastern European accent. Several media also report reddish-orange colored hair.

The woman fled on the offender’s bicycle

At around 6 p.m., the 27-year-old set off on a jogging lap on Sunday. Relatives had alarmed the police because she was not coming home at the expected time. The officers arrived about three hours after the young woman’s disappearance – around the same time as her.

She had managed to free herself and saved herself on the offender’s bike. According to the police, she was obviously shocked and “showed visible abrasions on the skin”.

The same evening, police officers from Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as the federal police, started searching for the perpetrator. They flew over the forest with a helicopter until around 11:30 p.m., around midnight a police dog squadron was deployed – to no avail. The next day, officials also observed the Wannsee station. There, the woman had proposed a meeting to the perpetrator during the rape so that he could let her go. But he didn’t come.

Neighbors are unsettled

The helicopter at night also heard a woman in her mid-50s who lives here in the settlement on the outskirts of Kleinmachnow. “We found out the next day,” she said on Wednesday. So far she had also used the forest to walk, but always “at least in pairs”. Now she can no longer imagine that for the time being. “You are sensitized.”

A woman in her mid-20s, who is currently running errands at the Rathausmarkt, the center of Kleinmachnow, also read about the crime. She is also unsettled. “I would not go there anymore. Certainly not alone. ”So far, she has used the forest, which is not far from her home, for walks, at least during the day. “So far I have had no concerns. You were never really alone there, joggers or dog owners kept coming over. ”

The woman in her early 60s, who was shopping at Lidl on Karl-Marx-Straße, also knows that the forest between Kleinmachnow, Berlin-Zehlendorf and the Autobahn is a popular jogger route. She lives only about 500 meters from the scene of the crime, and she also heard the helicopter roar with concern.

She no longer likes to walk in the forest anyway, she said on Wednesday. After all, wild boars are always to be found there, which sometimes react very aggressively to people. Like all respondents on Wednesday, she hopes that the perpetrator will be caught quickly.

In the search for the perpetrator, the Brandenburg investigators also work with the Berlin police. There have also been several incidents in Wannsee in the past few days that could fit the perpetrator. First, the “BZ” reported about it, on Wednesday the police published a press release.

According to the report, on June 22 there was a rape near the lake, and on the 28th a woman who had been attacked by a previously unknown perpetrator was able to flee in the area.

WITHIn addition, on June 25, a witness observed a sexual offense on a forest path near Teufelsberg, but the victim did not report it. The police did not provide any further details for the time being – but asked for information.
