unburnt bottle in burnt car; The family is worried that the case will be overturned

A plastic bottle said to have been recovered from a burnt car was kept sealed in a forensic department jar by the dead couple.

Kannur: The family is worried that the case of a young couple who died after their car was set on fire while driving will be overturned. The reason for the concern is the disclosure of the officials that they found a plastic bottle that was not completely burnt and the presence of some fuel in it. Viswanathan, father of deceased Risha, shared this with the party leaders and journalists who came to the house.

TV Prajith (35) and his pregnant wife KK Reesha (26), natives of Kuttiathur, died in the accident in Kannur last Thursday.

Apart from the compensation case with the insurance company, the compensation case will also come against the car company. Car owner can file suit in consumer court. The family suspects that someone is trying to establish that the fire was not caused by a technical fault.

The car is in the custody of the Kannur City Police. It is covered with a sheet on the roadside. It is said that an unburnt plastic bottle was found among the burnt remains of the car during the inspection conducted the day after the incident.

Officials say they found some chemical residue in it that smelled like fuel. Immediately after the accident, no one said that such a bottle was found during the inspection at the scene. Journalists were not allowed to film the inspection of the car on the second day. They also say that the rubber mat on the front of the car was burnt and how the bottle, which is said to contain fuel, remained unburnt. The bottle was found under the driver’s seat.

At the same time, the forensic department clarified that what was left in the bottle can only be said after examining it. Police Commissioner Ajith Kumar also said this in a press conference on Sunday. The remains collected from the car will reach the Regional Forensic Lab in Kannur through the court. Hope to get the result within a week.

Viswanathan says there was nothing but a drinking bottle. Two bottles of drinking water were in the back of the car. It is kept at City Station. The bags containing the clothes kept in the trunk were also not burnt. Viswanathan also has a bill for Rs 2,149 from Mahi on January 31.
