The children and grown-up grandchildren of the husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, are coming together in a new documentary, Female First reported. The Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April, two months before his 100th birthday, will be honored in a one-hour BBC broadcast. In the documentary, the closest members of Prince Philip’s family will share their memories and personal thoughts about him.
The production features Prince Harry, who with his wife Megan Markle last year resigned as a high-ranking member of the royal family and went to the United States, and Prince Andrew, who retired from public duties due to the scandal with Jeffrey Epstein.
Philip’s other children, Crown Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, will also speak on camera, as will his grandchildren Prince William, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Peter Phillips, Zara Tyndall, Lady Louise Windsor, and other members of the royal family. which have yet to be confirmed.
The documentary also includes footage from Queen Elizabeth’s private collection, insights from loyal members of his staff and a look at Prince Philip’s office, library and private office.
“For the first time on television, more than a dozen members of the royal family will share their personal thoughts and reflections, paying historic tribute to the extraordinary life of His Royal Highness Prince Philip,” the filmmakers said.
All the children of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, together with their grown-up grandchildren and other members of the royal family, have agreed to contribute to this unique portrait of Prince Philip.
The documentary, which will air on September 22, was originally commissioned to mark Prince Philip’s 100th birthday. Some of the interviews were filmed before the Duke of Edinburgh died. Subsequently, new interviews and scenes reflecting his demise were added to the film.
