May Day has been the warmest for many years, Foreca says.
On May Day Eve, the highest temperature, 19.3 degrees, was measured in Helsinki’s Kumpula. The highest temperature on May Day, 18.6 degrees, was measured in Kankaanpää. In the south, 15 degrees were generally exceeded.
According to the Finnish Meteorological Institute’s road statistics, temperatures of 20 degrees were last experienced on May Day in 2008.
The last few holidays have been quite rough. On Corona Day 2020, the temperature remained below ten degrees throughout the country.
