Unauthorized reproduction of assembly dispute footage leads to a show cause notice for rule infringement.

Thiruvananthapuram: Show-cause notices issued to opposition MLAs’ PAs for recording scenes of assembly conflict without permission. The notice from the Speaker’s office informs that the recording of the footage from the high security area is against the rules. The notice also states that disciplinary action will be taken if proper reason is not given.

Show-cause notices have been sent to PMs of Congress, RMP and Muslim League MLAs M Vincent, T Siddique, AP Anil Kumar, KK Rama, MK Munir, PK Basheer and Abid Hussain. A protest by UDF MLAs in front of the Speaker’s office on March 15 culminated in the conflict.

When the personal staff of the ministers and ruling party MLAs questioned the opposition MLAs who were squatting in the corridor in front of the Speaker’s office on the first floor, the altercation and fistfight took place. The situation worsened when Watch and Ward intervened in the incident. Later MLAs were dragged and hanged. Opposition MLAs including KK Rama were injured in the clash.
