On Saturday afternoon, November 2nd, 2024, an unauthorized demonstration marched through downtown Winterthur. The demonstrators behaved peacefully and there was no damage to property.

There were minor traffic disruptions.

Shortly after 2 p.m., around 200 people gathered at the city garden and formed an unauthorized demonstration around the city center (Stadthausstrasse, Graben, Obertor, Neustadtgasse, Tösstalstrasse, Holderplatz, Technikumstrasse, Bahnhofplatz, Stadthausstrasse, Graben). Shortly before 4 p.m. the rally on Steinberggasse broke up.

The demonstrators loudly but always peacefully drew attention to their concerns. The Winterthur city police were on site with a large number, but decided not to break up the demonstration in the interests of proportionality.

After the demonstration ended, numerous participants were checked and reported. In addition, several expulsion orders were issued and demo material was secured.

The rally led to minor traffic disruptions, especially on Technikumstrasse and at Bahnhofplatz.
