Unauthorized Access to Protected Dunes in Zahara de los Atunes: A Threat to the Ecosystem

Atlas Agency – 08/24/2023 17:00

The “Do Not Pass” message seems to be unclear. For this reason, the area is delimited by a cordon, which is not enough either because every afternoon dozens of people go into the protected dunes of Zahara de los Atunes, in Cádiz, to take their photo at sunset. An Andalusian deputy denounces it on social networks through a video. The footprints of what is prohibited are marked in the sand and the dirty memories of those who have set foot in an environment that should be free of footsteps remain in the form of plastic cups and other rubbish, which is damaging to the ecosystem. As one of the signs says: sensitive flora and fauna.
