Unanswered Questions in Oslo Murder Investigation: No Confirmed Arrests Yet

INVESTIGATOR: Here are the police at a home in Oslo late Saturday evening.

But there are still a number of unanswered questions in the case.

Published:

– There are still no confirmed arrests in the case, says police inspector Lars Reinholdt-Østbye to VG.

On Sunday morning, the police confirmed that a residence in Oslo had been investigated in connection with the case.

– We are working to map the environment around the deceased. Many investigations are carried out to shed light on this.

Otherwise, the police are tight-lipped when it comes to further details about the investigation and the course of events:

– It is a demanding case to investigate because it concerns a murder with an unknown perpetrator, says Reinholdt-Østbye.

It was Friday evening that a man in his 20s was found dead in a car park at Løkenåsen school in Lørenskog.

Previously, the police have called for people who have made observations at the school between 3pm and 8pm on Friday.

– We have interviewed many people throughout last night and into the night, but we cannot confirm who has been questioned and what has been the topic, the police inspector told VG.

The police are still working to map the background and motive for the murder, says Reinholdt-Østbye.

– Are there any suspects in the case?

– We cannot say anything about that at the moment.

– How do the police think the man was killed?

– It is too early to say anything about. Forensic technicians have finished at the scene and the deceased will be autopsied during the week.

– Have the police clarified whether the man was killed on the spot or transported there?

– This has not been clarified. These are among the hypotheses we work according to: Where, when and under what circumstances.

LOCATION OF FOUND: A man in his 20s was found dead in this car park on Friday evening. Police markings can be seen in the snow.

On Friday evening, a man found a black bag and three knives 2.7 kilometers away from the car park. The person contacted the police, who came to the door to seize the bag on the night of Saturday.

It is currently unknown whether the bag and the knives have any connection with the murder.

This is confirmed by police inspector Reinholdt-Østbye on Sunday morning.

– Has the find been checked out of the murder case?

– We are working to investigate whether there is any connection. Formally speaking, it is neither checked in nor out, he says to VG.

– Do the police have control over weapons in the murder case?

– No seizure has been made in connection with the act or the actual cause of death.

INVESTIGATOR: The police are working with several hypotheses after the discovery of a murdered man in Lørenskog. Here they work on site on Friday evening.
