Frankfurt has had enough of Napoli’s illegal practices. He decided to take a drastic step

This is according to the president of the European Football Union (UEFA), Aleksander Čeferin, who does not like that the supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt could not support their team live in Wednesday’s second leg of the Champions League round of 16 in Naples. The head of UEFA indicated that in that case the duel should be moved to another city.

In the first round of 16 meeting, in which Napoli won 2-0 with Slovakian midfielder Stanislav Lobotka on the pitch of Frankfurt, the police detained nine Eintracht fans after attacking SSC supporters. The Italian Ministry of the Interior subsequently issued an order prohibiting the SSC from selling tickets to Eintracht fans before the return match.

The Bundesliga’s lawyers appealed and, with the help of UEFA, succeeded in the Italian court. But the Neapolitan authorities immediately issued a decree blocking the sale of tickets to all residents of the city of Frankfurt. According to UEFA rules, each club must provide guests with five percent of the total number of tickets.

Čeferin indicated that in another similar case, the duel would be moved to a neutral stadium. “We have to declare that if something like this happens in the future, the match will not be played there. It’s simple – we have to change the rules.” announced the president of UEFA. “It is unacceptable that the Italian authorities decide not to let German fans into the stadium. This is an intolerable situation,” he added for ZDF.

The management of the Bundesliga announced that, despite the ban, several Eintracht supporters will be present at Wednesday’s match and around the Diego Maradona Stadium in Naples, DPA reported.
