Mexico City. The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Alicia Bárcena, pointed out that the situation in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli conflict is unacceptable, which is why an agreement is necessary that allows peace and guarantees the rights of the Arab people.
During the presentation of the Public Policy Report for Strengthening Mexico’s Relations with the Arab World, the chancellor also thanked the international condemnations of Ecuador for the intervention in the Mexican embassy in Quito.
“It is comforting to share with you, the peoples and governments of the League of Arab States, the primacy of respect for international law as a guiding principle of foreign policy. We share the certainty that peace and stability never rest on force. Conflicts armed forces and the violence that has arisen in recent years have escalated in a worrying manner in recent days, and this poses greater risks and unacceptable scenarios,” he explained.
He also indicated that Mexico has defended the political, social and territorial rights of the Palestinians in multilateral, regional and bilateral forums, in addition to the fact that on several occasions the Security Council has been requested to act as a consequence of the violations of international law that accumulate in the Palestinian territories.
“Mexico knows, like Palestine, the experience of walls and border crossings that separate, dehumanize and exclude. For this reason, with the members of the League of Arab States, we share the will to promote a global dialogue on the Palestinian issue,” he said.
