Unable to pay Rp 15 billion, Jerinx Bongkar Offered Land in Bali to Adam Deni

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Social media activist Adam Deni and musicians Jerinx has done mediation three times towards peace before finally ending in reporting and legal cases.

First, Jerinx apologized directly over the phone to Adam Deni.

Second, Jerinx and Adam Deni met at Polda Metro Jaya and were facilitated for mediation there.

Finally, Jerinx and Adam Deni met at a hotel in South Jakarta for mediation.

There are several new facts that Jerinx revealed when delivering his testimony on Monday (14/2/2022) at the Central Jakarta District Court.

Is it true that Adam Deni asks for Rp. 15 billion?

Jerinx’s previous statement, who was present as a witness, was confirmed by Jerinx.

Jerinx said that Adam Deni’s party asked for Rp 15 billion as peace money.

Because they did not have that much money, Jerinx offered them up to Rp 10 billion, Rp 300 million, up to Rp 70 million, but Adam Deni still refused.

“It turned out that what he (Adam) asked for was way above our expectations. We were surprised,” said Jerinx in court.

The first day’s mediation failed and Adam Deni asked them to mediate again the next day.

Offer land in Bali

Jerinx and his father, I Wayan Arjono, then looked for a way to fulfill Adam Deni’s request.

They then agreed to offer their family a plot of land in Bali in exchange for peace money.

“After the first meeting was deadlocked, I offered Adam Deni a piece of land in Bali. ‘I have land that costs less than Rp 15 billion. What if I give you my land assets in Bali but you withdraw the case’, said Jerinx.

However, Adam Deni still rejected the offer.

“He (Adam Deni) said, ‘Oh no, it has to be Rp. 15 or 10 billion before I withdraw the report,'” Jerinx said imitating Adam Deni.

The mediation still failed and Jerinx’s legal process continued to court.

Adam Deni had forgiven Jerinx

Jerinx added that Adam Deni had forgiven him for the alleged threat a few hours after the call.

“After the call (the alleged threat), a few hours later I called him (Adam) again. I apologize. He said, ‘yes Bli, I understand’, forgiven, and he said December will go to Bali,” said Jerinx.

“At that time we had promised. It’s peaceful, calm. He admitted to the media that he had forgiven me,” he continued.

Jerinx was very surprised to know that his words still ended in the police report made by Adam Deni.

Jerinx himself did not know that Adam Deni had actually recorded a telephone conversation containing the alleged threat.

For information, apart from the defendant’s own testimony, at yesterday’s trial, Jerinx also presented two witnesses.

They are an ITE expert named Agung Riandi and a legal philosophy expert named Petrus Belo.

Meanwhile, Jerinx was charged with violating Article 29 Jo Article 45 of the ITE Law and Article 27 Paragraph (4) Jo Article 45 Paragraph (4) of Law No. 19 of 2016 on Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 on ITE.
