WARTAKOTALIVECOM, Jakarta – Panji Gumilang, the leader of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, who has been named a suspect until he was detained in a case of alleged religious blasphemy.
But now Panji Gumilang has asked Bareskrim Polri to suspend his detention.
The request for a suspension of Panji Gumilang’s detention was submitted by his legal team to Bareskrim Polri on Thursday (3/8) morning.
Humane reasons and Panji’s health condition became the basis for the legal team to apply for a suspension of detention.
The legal team also guaranteed that Panji would not run away and destroy evidence.

After the detention of Panji Gumilang, today, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Religion, the West Java Provincial Government and the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
Reporting from Kompas TV, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs asked Bareskrim to quickly investigate the general crime and special crime of Panji Gumilang, including the matter of the alleged ML.
Then regarding education at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD ordered the Ministry of Religion, the West Java Provincial Government and the National Police to ensure that the education process at Al Zaytun continues to run normally.
The three institutions are authorized to “assessment” curriculum and teaching staff at Al-Zaytun.
