UNAB calls on Bumangueses to donate to benefit Guajira children

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education program and the Department of Social Transformation of the UNAB University have opted this year to expand their Juégatela project for the children of La Guajira, which is why they included Santander in the delivery of end-of-year gifts.

“This project that began with only the Guajira area also changed to Santander for this year because since the program has been in practice we have been working in hospital classrooms, foundations, educational institutions and with migrants. We have worked a lot with the department, so we decided to include it within the great name of the project, which increased our commitment to 3,000 toys,” said Sebastián Marín Hine, teacher of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education program.

Juégatela por los niños de la Guajira was created in 2018 with the objectives of promoting the right to play among boys and girls and training the students of the program in the recognition of diverse cultures.

“This project has a fundamental role in our society, not only by training professionals, but also by having a social impact on the inhabitants of the region. UNAB University has been characterized by that view and impulse of the academy towards all the populations of the country,” added Marín Hine.

The UNAB delegation will deliver the donations from December 11 to 15 in 13 rancherías in La Guajira, and from the 18th to the 22nd of the same month in Barichara and Bucaramanga.

Those interested in participating in this call can do so by donating educational toys (blocks, balls, bows, puzzles), clothing in good condition and school supplies until next Sunday, December 3. The collection will be at three points on the different UNAB campuses:

· Caldas Institute preschool building

· Third floor of the Armando Puyana Puyana administrative building, El Jardín campus

· First floor of the El Bosque campus

· The program invites you to donate money from $5,000 and up through Nequi or Bancolombia.
