Una Daniela is a multi-faceted musician, multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated with Jānis Šipkēvits, Ukrainian singer Vera Brezhneva, the groups “Prāta vētr” and “Astro’n’out”, hip-hop performers Ozola and Edavārdi, Ralph Eiland and other artists. In parallel with all creative collaborations, Una is still active in the Riga Gospel Choir led by Kristīne Prauliņa, and currently the singer is actively working on creating original music together with her group “The Electroads”.
The song “Stopping time” is Una’s personal story about what she experienced – a story about a period of time in which she experienced and survived so much to finally stop and write a song about the period of her life until now.
“The moment of freezing, when time stops moving for a few seconds, you are short of breath, anxiety creeps in and all you hear is the loud heartbeat in your chest, you are overwhelmed by the feeling of darkness and enlightenment at the same time. A moment of realization. We really need a moment,” says Una Daniela about the song’s message.
“For me, this is a special and deeply personal song, which was written during one of the darkest stages of my life, a time of self-awareness, when the end of one path was replaced by the beginning of a new one. It’s a reminder to stop and take a deep breath to listen to your inner voice, which is trying to break out from every cell of your body, and think about what to do next!” continues the singer.
