UN: Thousands of civilians killed in Ukraine

2345 civilians have been killed and 2,919 more injured in Ukraine since Russia’s repeated invasion on February 24, the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said on Thursday.

Since the beginning of the war, the OHCHR has confirmed the deaths of 703 men, 429 women, 44 girls and 63 boys as a result of the war. 70 children and 1,039 adults whose gender has not yet been determined have also been killed, according to a report published by the OHCNR.

Among the injured are 339 men, 271 women, 61 girls and 66 boys, as well as 158 children and 2,024 adults whose gender is not yet known.

Most of the victims of the war were killed or wounded by projectiles and weapons that hit a wide area, such as rockets, jet launchers or aerial bombs.

According to the UN Office on Human Rights, the real number of civilian casualties in Russia’s war against Ukraine is much higher, as it is difficult to obtain information from places where active hostilities are continuing.
