In a report to the UN Security Council, Guterres also urged the US to extend waivers related to oil trade with Iran and fully renew waivers for nuclear non-proliferation projects.
“I call on the US to lift or ignore the sanctions outlined in the plan,” said Guterres, who also called on Iran to return to full implementation of the deal.

The UN Security Council will reportedly discuss Guterres’ biennial report on the implementation of the 2015 resolution enshrining the nuclear deal between Iran, the US, France, Britain, Germany, Russia and China.
