UN Secretary General declared “moral error” in COVID vaccination

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres

Antonio Guterres called for an international coronavirus immunization plan to be developed in order to vaccinate 70% of the world’s population by June 2022.

UN Secretary General António Guterres has criticized the pace of coronavirus vaccinations in the world as billions of people are still waiting for their first vaccination. He stated this in his video message to the participants of the Paris Peace Forum on Thursday, November 11.

Guterres called this inequality in the COVID-19 immunization process a “moral mistake” and called on the world community to develop an international coronavirus vaccination plan.

“We need an international vaccination plan that will at least double the rate of vaccine production and distribution in order to reach a vaccination rate of 70% in the first half of 2022,” he said.

Earlier, Guterres said that humanity in its entire history has never been in such danger as it is now. The reasons for this, he said, are coronavirus, climate crisis, situations in Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Yemen, as well as misinformation.
