UN nuclear watchdog in talks with Iran ahead of summit with the West

Iran-deal

The Iran deal dates back to 2015. When the US, Russia, China, France, the UK and Germany agreed with Iran that Tehran would limit its nuclear activities and allow controls by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In return, economic sanctions against Iran were lifted. Much of Iran’s uranium stock was taken into custody by Russia as part of the deal, and Iran drastically reduced the number of centrifuges used to enrich uranium.
