Javaid Rehman, in an interview with Reuters on Monday, said that over the years his office had been gathering testimony and evidence. He is ready to share it if UN Human Rights Council or other bodies conducting impartial research.
He said he was concerned by reports that some mass graves were being destroyed as part of the cover-up.
“I think it’s time and it’s very important now that Mr Raisi is president (elected) that we start investigating what happened in 1988 and the role of individuals,” said Rehman from London, where he teaches Islamic law and international law.

“We have made communication with the Islamic Republic of Iran because we are concerned that there is another policy to completely destroy graves or there may be some activity to destroy evidence of mass graves,” he said.
