UN Denies Russia Right to Administer Justice: Zelensky Calls for Exclusion from Security Council

“For the first time in the history of the UN, its member states have denied Russia the right to administer justice on their behalf in the International Court of Justice. The world sees who is destroying international law instead of defending it,” he said.

Zelensky welcomed the representatives of Australia, Mexico, Romania, South Africa and the United States with the victory in the vote for the International Court of Justice in both the UN Security Council and the UNGA.

Background

Today the UN elected representatives to the International Court of Justice. The representative of Russia, Kirill Gevorgyan, lost to the representative of Romania, former Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu. They were nominated to the court from Eastern Europe.
