OHCHR spokeswoman Marta Hurtado said she was aware of recent video footage showing the execution of the prisoners of war.
“We have raised concerns about the treatment of prisoners of war, including the alleged killing of prisoners of war by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” Hurtado told TASS in a statement on Friday (10/2/2023).
The graphic video in question emerged earlier this week, filmed by an armed individual who spoke Ukrainian and demanded answers from three men in military uniform lying on the ground.

After failing to get a coherent response from them, the man shot one of the men in the head several times at point-blank range.
One of the men, lying motionless on the ground, also seen covered in blood around his head, appears to have been shot and killed before the start of the video.
A fellow Ukrainian soldier appeared to be trying to reason with the gunman, indicating that a third prisoner was holding a grenade. The killer briefly shows his face at the very end of the video, ending with obscenities and the slogan “Slava Ukraine”.
Additional footage apparently filmed immediately after the incident shows the killer trying to come up with reasons to justify his actions.
Hurtado said the UN was also aware of the recordings, adding that there was no really good reason.
