A Yemeni pilgrim from Umrah who had put up a banner in the Haram mosque in Mecca and shot a video was arrested. A foreigner was arrested for performing Umrah on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.
He is the lawful resident of Iqama in the country. The video of the banner displayed in the Haram in violation of the rules and regulations of Umrah has been spread widely on social media since last day. Dressed in Umrah clothes, he displayed a banner in English and Arabic with words against the rules of Umrah. In Haram mosques it is strictly forbidden to display banners and shout slogans. He was filming the video in violation of this.
He was arrested and handed over to the prosecution for further prosecution. Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, head of the Haram office, said mosques in Mecca and Medina Haram are places of worship only for God and are not places to raise slogans or banners that violate regulations and directives. He admonished believers to work with the sanctity and dignity of the Haram mosques and to follow the regulations and instructions followed in the Harams.
