Umkirch, Gottenheim: From May 11: State road 115 between Gottenheim and Umkirch will be dismantled – traffic will be diverted via federal road 31 – Freiburg regional council will build a cycle path along the road

From Monday, May 11th, the regional council of Freiburg (RP) begins partially dismantling the L 115 (Umkircher Straße) between Gottenheim and Umkirch (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald). The section of the route had to be completely closed to through traffic from Monday, May 18 through Friday, June 19. Traffic is diverted via the B 31.

The road surface will be renewed from the confluence of Buchheimer Strasse with Umkircher Strasse in Gottenheim to the roundabout at the entrance to Umkirch. Outside, it will be dismantled to a width of 5.30 meters and a cycle path will be created. Until Friday, May 15, only preparatory work is planned for which the section of the route does not have to be closed, according to the RP.

The construction work is carried out in sections in order to be able to guarantee local traffic throughout. Residents would be informed separately of any necessary restrictions during the installation of the covering. After the expansion of the B 31 in 2015, which has since been used for bypass traffic, the state road will now be downgraded to municipal road and can be dismantled, according to the RP.
