The mayor of Castel Ritaldi pushed out of the polling station
Violently pushed against the gate of the primary school where she was going to vote for the regional elections. Hit by a woman who then walked away. Elisa Sabbatini, mayor of Castel Ritaldi re-elected in June for a centre-right civic body, reported bruises to her shoulder and sternum, judged to be healable in 7 days. The episode dates back to late yesterday afternoon. “I stopped at the school gate to talk to some people before entering the polling station, when this woman, on her way out, pushed her way out, giving me a shoulder, then left saying something I didn’t understand. The space to pass it was there, but instead I felt the blow that was given to me.” The episode occurred in front of several witnesses. Sabbatini, after the blow, even though she was in pain, went to vote, followed by a visit to the emergency room of the Spoleto hospital. In the morning the report was made to the Carabinieri. The reasons for the gesture need to be clarified, whether it was motivated by personal or political disagreements, or whether the reason is a combination of the two causes. “I’m fine, I have seven lives like cats. We move on” he added on the phone.
