Watchmaking and the automobile: a history that continues
The history between watchmaking and automobiles continues to grow. Last June, we discovered the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph Lamborghini Verde Mantis chronograph, inspired by the Lamborghini SC63. More recently, the famous Tag Heuer chronograph from the Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport collection was unveiled in a new light, even more dazzling and daring. It is undeniable that the collaborations between these two worlds never cease to surprise us, with watchmaking houses competing in ingenuity to offer exceptional partnerships, to the delight of enthusiasts.
Today, it is once again watchmaking and motorsport that come together to create a unique timepiece. This time, the prestigious Ulysse Nardin house is teaming up with the legendary rallye Gumball 3000. Founded in 1999 by Maximillion Cooperthis rally attracts a variety of personalities: sheikhs, rock stars, artists and entrepreneurs, all driving classic cars, hypercars or customized metal models, sometimes defying the forces of law and order on open roads.
A watch to celebrate an extraordinary partnership
For its 25th anniversary, the Gumball 3000 partners with Ulysse Nardina watch manufacturer with a bold spirit, to launch the Freak X Gumball 3000. This partnership reflects a “perfect fusion of the philosophies of both brands: non-conformist, pushing boundaries and breaking conventions”. The result? A limited edition of an exceptional timepiece.
The Freak X Gumball 3000: visionary and avant-garde
The Freak X Gumball 3000 is a variation of the famous Freak Xa watch that has revolutionized watchmaking since its release in 2001.
