Leonardo, technical director at Paris Saint-Germain, is under fire from the club’s supporters. The Brazilian made some controversial statements in a club interview on Tuesday and the supporters of the French club are not pleased with that.
“Paris has never really been the football city. That is still Marseille. There is still a lot to be done in Paris,” said Leonardo. These statements went down the wrong way with the ultras of PSG. The supporters respond with an open letter to Leonardo’s statement.
‘The fact that the richness and beauty of the city of Paris cannot compete with the football that the city produces does not mean that we are not a football city and that we do not breathe PSG’, it sounds. ‘Surprisingly, Mr Leonardo did not think about loyalty and dedication of his own fans, even and especially when our club was about to be relegated. But for that you also have to know, love and respect the history of our club. ‘
Leonardo has not yet commented on the reaction of the ultras from PSG. “Maybe we should start with a meeting, something you’ve never wanted since you returned to the club in 2019.”
