Ultras clashes: 4 arrested, investigators at work

That’s 180 people. They were identified thanks to the license plates of the rented minivans in which they made the trip and which were filmed by the video surveillance of the Badia al Pino service area, the stage for the clash with sticks and bars between Neapolitan ultras and Roma supporters on Sunday at ‘lunch time. Among these, the responsibility in the clashes of four ultras who have been arrested has already been ascertained: three Roma supporters (including Martino Di Tosto, historic face of the Curva Sud and wounded in the thigh in Sunday’s “battle”) and a Neapolitan from the Carolina Brigade of Curva A. Immediately trial for the yellow and reds treated in the Emergency Department of Arezzo, accused of aggravated brawl. Investigators are now cross-referencing the images to ascertain the participation in the clashes of other identified people. In this case, the rule of “deferred flagrance” can be used. The institute covers a time frame of 48 hours. In practice, arrests are possible until lunchtime today. Afterwards it will therefore be possible to have an overview of the results of the operations. Roberto Rossi, public prosecutor of Arezzo, assures “every effort to ensure that those responsible for these events are called to account for their actions”.

The reconstruction of the accidents is confirmed. The Arezzo police station was aware of the possible crossings of the ultras and for this reason it was decided to deploy agents in the service areas on the Autostrada del Sole. The stop of the Neapolitans and the “slowdown” of the Romanists had been announced by the chats, therefore the different groups somehow “seeked” for the clash and were aware of their respective paths. Clash that took place at the exit from the service area because the police had closed the access as the Romanists were approaching. Then the blockade of the highway to avoid worse trouble. Moreover, audios have been published on social networks that speak of other injured people: “Gerry, it’s all broken, they took him to the emergency room. Another man’s legs and arms were broken”.

Meanwhile, Napoli takes a stand. Who harshly condemns “some alleged fans, who unfortunately still attend Italian stadiums, always creating inconvenience and danger for true fans”. De Laurentiis’ club does not believe in a general travel ban and instead pushes to embrace the English model: “England – reads the release released yesterday – in the 80s eradicated the troublemakers from the stadiums, with drastic but effective measures.
