The organizers of the Ultra de Miami have decided to cancel the electronic music festival for the second time due to COVID-19, reported Billboard magazine and detailed that the “official announcement” will be made when they have confirmed the dates for the 2022 edition.
The magazine specialized in music indicated that the festival directors have asked the Miami authorities for permission to hold the event on fMarch 25-27, 2022 at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater, a park in the center of the city.
According to Billboard, a letter sent to the city by Ultra’s attorney, Sandy York, points out that the conditions created by the spread of the new coronavirus that led city officials to cancel the festival in 2020 remain a threat to attendees in 2021.
“We anticipate the city will re-invoke the force majeure clause” in the license agreement to ride Ultra in Bayfront Park, York wrote. In the letter, the attorney requested to reschedule the event for the March 25, 26 and 27, 2022.
The letter, according to Billboard, requests that the approval be made in writing and that Ultra’s payment obligations to the city “be considered modified to correspond with the rescheduled dates.”
