The opposition bench VAMOS presented an injunction against the creation of a commission for the Competition Law. This day, it seems that the actions again attack said regulations, since the Constitutional Court (CC) gave a period of 48 hours for the Board of Directors of Congress to deliver a detailed report on some details.
The court’s request is based on presenting the bases and why the Independent Deputy Samuel Pérez was appointed as President of the Commission for Competition Law and its creation.
To that extent, the magistrates processed the protection proposed by the group of legislators, headed by Allan Rodríguez. Since they stated that the appointment of an independent deputy for that task conflicts with the organic law of parliament, which is why they asked the court to order his departure from the position.
On repeated occasions, parliamentarians have emphasized that they will not let their colleagues, elected by the Semilla Movement and declared independent, chair any commission.

THE COMPETITION LAW
The president of Congress, Nery Ramos, created the presidential competition commission, presented on February 26 under Presidential Agreement 1-2024.
Which, according to the Vamos deputies, “is an arbitrary act, which is why they request that provisional protection be granted and said commission be suspended.”
To that extent, they presented a due execution of the appointment of the independent deputy Samuel Pérez, since the court ruled last January that no independent deputy can chair a work commission, which is why they point out that there is a partial non-compliance with the resolution issued by the Constitutional Court.
“We are requesting due execution, because the CC had already issued that Independent deputies could not chair any commission. They have to do it, they have to adjust their actions to what the Constitutional Court establishes, if they do not adjust their actions the appropriate thing will be certified, and here we consider that they are disobeying the order issued in that protection,” the opponents explained.
