Bundesliga basketball club Ratiopharm Ulm won the derby against Crailsheim on Saturday night. After a roller coaster game, the score was 91 to 80.
The first quarter featured two brave teams. However, both also showed great defensive shortcomings. None of the table neighbors managed to detach themselves decisively. Consequently balanced (19:19) closed the first ten minutes of the game.
Back and forth in round two
The second quarter saw ups and downs for both teams. Crailsheim followed up Ulm’s better start with an 11:0 run. The visitors led by four points. It was thanks to 19 points from Brazil’s Yago dos Santos that Ratiopharm Ulm went into the break with a 44-39 lead.
Weak third quarter from Ulm
Crailsheim started the second half well. Ulm often ran behind and hardly had access. Crailsheim equalized and drew away. Crailsheim scored 24 to Ulmer’s meager 16 points in this quarter. With a narrow lead from the visitors, he went to the last round.

In the final section it was Thomas Klepeisz and Nicolas Bretzel who ensured the victory in Ratiopharm Ulm. Especially the 2.12 Bretzel man was able to establish itself again and again. He also benefited from good passing from his teammates. In the end, Bretzel was Ulm’s best shooter with 21 points.
