The MHP giants Ludwigsburg missed the leap to fourth place in the basketball league. In the derby at ratiopharm Ulm, the giants clearly lost 76:93 (39:52) and conceded the second defeat in a row. BG Göttingen is now fifth in the table thanks to a 93:82 (47:29) away win at Syntainics MBC Weißenfels.
Ludwigsburg started in a deep sleep and was ten points behind early on. In the meantime, Ulm’s lead grew to 17 points. In the second round, the giants fought back and reduced the lead to 66:67 in the final quarter before the hosts pulled away again. The most diligent collector of points was Ulm’s playmaker Yago Mateus Dos Santos (26), while Ludwigsburg’s point guard Jhonathan Dunn (16) put up the most resistance.
After a comfortable half-time lead, Göttingen brought the unchallenged start-finish victory in Weißenfels over time. Till Pace knew how to please with 24 points and eight rebounds.
The Rostock Seawolves suffered a setback in the fight for the play-offs. The promoted team lost 72:76 (38:36) against their table neighbors Würzburg Baskets. In the meantime, the Fraport Skyliners missed the next liberation after beating Chemnitz. At the Veolia Towers Hamburg, the German champions from 2004 lost 70:84 (40:41).
